You may mostly come across oily hair among hair types. You also likely have oliy hair.

It’s harder to care of oily hair and to remove its oiliness compared to other hair types. But it’s still possible.

After having read the following secrets, perhaps most of you will understand improvident oily hair care.

On basis of my experience I can ensure you that you’ll be able to reduce oiliness and also will attain healthier hair, if you follow the below golden rules of oily hair care:

1. Wash your hair once it becomes muddy.

If you wash hair even just a day later, the activity of oil glands on the scalp increases and it impedes cleansing oiliness from hair. Besides, in this case hair is “programmed” to become oily more often. But if timely and properly washed, hair becomes oily more rarely.

2. Don’t scratch your scalp while washing hair.

While scratching the roots of hair, you irritate oil glands, activating them, and as a consequence of it, hair becomes oily faster. Therefore instead of scratching, just firmly massage your scalp with ends of fingers.

3. Don’t wash oily hair with HOT water.

Hot water is also “a friend” of oil glands. Maybe you don't know how to wash your hair in the right way and as a result, it may have become oily, even though it wasn’t so before. Oily hair should be washed only with lukewarm or cool water.

4. Avoid shampoos for all hair types.

Such shampoos have universal contain, so they are not effective for oily hair. Each hair type demands individual approach. Therefore while choosing a hair shampoo buy only shampoo and conditioner for oily hair.

5. Don’t dry oily hair with a hot drier.

During this process, the activity of oil glands is increasing. Actually it’s not recommended to dry any hair type in such a way. Sooner or later it causes hair loss. The best way to dry oily hair is the natural way – keeping open after taking its wetness with a towel.

6. The shampoo and other remedies for oily hair that you buy from shops are not enough for oily hair.

You should certainly add this list homemade natural remedies for oily hair. For example, you can use the following hair conditioner recipes after washing:

1. 3-4 tbsp dried (or 5-6 tbsp fresh) nettle + 1l water. Pour the boiling water on the nettle and let it infuse.

2. 3-4 tbsp dried (or 5-6 tbsp fresh) mint + 1liter water. The process of appying is similar.

3. Juice of 1 lemon + 1 liter water. Mix the ingredients and apply as a conditioner after shampooing.

The last two recipes are especially more effective for reducing hair oiliness and also bring hair shine.

7. Minimize intake of fatty and sweet foods.

Instead of that, eat more fruit and vegetables, it’s better to drink freshly squeezed juices, especially juice of carrot.

Unfortunately, most people consider that it’s enough to care hair from outside to provide its beauty and health and that’s why they use only hair remedies. But they forget that what we eat is transmitted to hair follicles as well to other organs. That’s why we should enrich our daily ration with various vitamins and microelements if we want to strengthen hair from inside.

There are different reasons why some people have got dry hair: various diseases, lack of vitamins, heedless care etc. Dry hair has a tendency to break and split. So it's vital to throughly take care of dry hair.

Here are Top 7 secrets everyone who has got dry hair, should know:

1. Avoid all chemical procedures that may cause dryness of hair (coloring, perm, etc.)

2. Nourish dry hair on a regular basis.

For this purpose you can use the following remedies:

Homemade deep nourishing mask for dry hair: (once a week)

Take olive oil, castor oil and soybean oil in equal quantities and mix them. Then to heat the mixture put it in a small bowl and the bowl into the other bowl with hot water. Squeeze some lemon juice into the mixture. When it’s warm, massage it into your scalp thoroughly, cover with cellophane and then with a hot towel. Keep the mask for 1-2 hours. Then rinse it with warm water and homemade shampoo (see recipe below).

Homemade shampoo recipe for dry hair:
1 large egg separated, 3 tbsp castile soap
In a bowl, beat egg white until foamy. Blend in yolk followed by the soap. Wet hair with warm water. Massage half the egg shampoo into scalp. Rinse well then massage remaining shampoo into scalp. Leave on hair about 1 min. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

3. Don’t go out without a cap or a hat on hot sunny days.
Staying in the sun with open hair for a long time can be harmful especially for dry hair. And Not only the sun, but also strong wind! You should protect your hair against environmental activity, as you do for your body and face.

4. Do you know how to wash dry hair? Don’t wash very often.

Unlike oily hair, dry hair doesn’t become dirty very often. Therefore it’s usually washed once a week (of course, here everything depends on the individuality of the hair). It’s not recommended to wash dry hair with simple water with which we wash our body. Because such hard water removes fat from hair and causes more dryness. In order to soften water boil it and let it stand till the morning so that salt could settle. Then pour it very carefully into the other bowl, not shaking up. Don’t pour the bottom. And then you can wash your hair with this water.

5. Cleanse your hair from chlorine and salt, especially in summer.

Because chlorine and salt damage hair structure and cause hair loss. Actually, it’s recommended to put on swimming cap while swimming in the sea or in the swimming pool. Besides shop cleansers, you’d better cleanse your hair with a natural homemade cleanser for dry hair at least once a month.

Recommended homemade deep cleanser recipe:

1 tbsp of your shampoo (more for long hair) + 1/8 cup of baking soda (more for long hair)
Wet hair, apply shampoo and bring to suds, then apply soda on the suds and scrub into hair and scalp. Leave for 2 minutes. You’ll feel cool sensation. Rinse very well with cool water and apply a conditioner if necessary.

6. Do you know how to dry hair? Don’t dry hair with hot dryers or over the stove, gas oven.

It’s better to dry hair in natural way keeping it open. You needn’t even cover hair with a towel. Just take the wetness with a towel and let your hair dry open. Don’t forget that a hot dryer is very harmful especially for dry hair.

7. Activate the oil glands on your scalp with a hairbrush.

If you want to fill the lack of fat on your scalp and nourish your hair roots

You should turn the following tip into your habit: Every day comb your hair with a hairbrush massaging thoroughly the scalp. But the brush mustn’t be very stiff. You should brush hair in all directions in front of open window, so that to provide all your scalp with fresh air. During this process the blood circulation is increasing and scalp and hair follicles are being nourished (daily 100 movements with a brush).

To choose the right shampoo for hair is a delicate art. Not everybody mention this subtlety.
Therefore I decided to write about it. I recommend you to read the following tips before you buy any shampoo. After reading you’ll know how to choose the right shampoo for your hair as well as specialists.

1. Identify your hair type: oily, normal or dry. You’d better consult an experienced hair dresser if it’s hard for you to determine.

2. Choose shampoo that’s made specifically for your hair type. Don’t buy shampoos “for all types” as some people do. Because every hair type needs delicate care. There’s not any benefit from such shampoos. Because it’s impossible to be useful for all types at the same time. Sometimes it causes even hair loss.

3. If your hair is oily choose shampoo for oily hair for frequent use and make sure it has ingredients like tea tree oil, sage oil, chamomile or nettle, and also lavender or rosemary essential oil if you have hair loss.

4. Don’t use 2 in 1 shampoos for a long time. Really, such shampoos are very suitable when you are in a hurry and haven’t got much time for hair care. But you shouldn’t be keen on them. Because long-period use may cause some problems. Some additions, like silicon may settle on your hair, growing them heavy and faded. If you’ve already such a problem, put that shampoo aside for a while and use homemade natural shampoo. (You can find such chemical free homemade shampoos at the natural shampoo section of naturesbrands store).

5. For dry scalp or dandruff use a mediated anti-dandruff shampoo. Use anti-dandruff shampoos with herbal contain. They are very popular and quite effective. You can achieve the best results if you rinse your hair with herbal infusion (burdock root, stinging nettles, raspberry leaves, sage, goose grass, marjoram, parsley, quince seeds, rosemary or southernwood) after shampooing. Read which shampoos are more suitable in my next report about how to remove dandruff.

6. Don’t use the same shampoo for a long time. In opinion of experts after a long-time use the shampoo loses its effectiveness for hair. As hair became accustomed to it. Therefore you’d better change your shampoo one a month. A month later you can return again to former shampoo.

7. While choosing shampoo for dry hair buy a moisturizing shampoo which contains shea butter, jojoba oil, olive oil, vitamins B6, B5, E or avocado. Jojoba oil is super moisturizing one and avocado is rich in vitamins B6, A, lipid acids, protein all that are very necessary for dry hair.

8. Be careful while choosing a shampoo for colored hair. Don’t use regular shampoos for color treated hair, because they’ll fade your hair faster. Use only shampoo for dyed hair. The regular ones have more detergent (ingredients for cleansing) in them, therefore they cause color fading and hair loss. Wash your hair with lukewarm water, NOT HOT and rinse out with cool water. If you keep these rules then the color of your hair will last for a long time.

Having searched through the internet as a hair specialist I chose just the following online hair products that I recommend as effective for various hair types. Below you’ll find also my own expert review about each product. But I must say using instructions on these products are not always quite right. Therefore if you’d like to know how to use for your hair type any of these shampoos then feel free write me to my email.
